Collective Worship
Collective Worship is a very special and important time to everyone at Kirkburton First School.
We enjoy worshipping together and look forward to this time each day.
Recently, Rev. Amanda Grant helped to set up a Collective Worship group with Mrs Brooke. The group is made up of 10 children from Key Stage 1 and 2 who plan and deliver their own assembly to the rest of the school each term.
The Collective Worship group confidently led an assembly launching Advent to the whole school. The assembly centred around the period of Advent and the meaning of the Advent candles.
Each class then went on to produce a stunning Advent wreath to become part of the Church decorations at All Hallows. They looked beautiful when they were lit!
The Collective Worship Group's next assembly is coming up in March and will focus on the Easter period - looking at the cruxifiction and the resurrection of Jesus.
Below is a video of the 2017-18 Collective Worship Group introducing themselves.
