Class 1

Welcome to Class 1!

We love to learn, read, play, listen to stories, count, fill the treasure pot, and much, much more!

There are 23 amazing children in Year 1!

Mrs Quinn is our class teacher.

Mrs Morton also teaches us PE on Wednesday mornings and Music on Friday mornings.

Spring Term 2020

Our 3rd topic is called 'Australia' and we will be continuing to study our significant historical figure,  Amy Johnson, but we will focus our studies on the amazing country she landed in - Australia. We are going to learn a lot of new geographical information and become confident with maps and plans of the United Kingdon and the World.

We will learn about animals who inhabit Australia, and read stories which come from the 'Dreamtime' legends of the indiginous community.

We will learn to think about life 100 years ago.

We will be able to study different historical sources to help us to learn about Amy Johnson.

What can we find out about aeroplanes, and air travel?

Perhaps we might pretend that we work in an airport - what would we need to help people with?

We will have lots of fun in our classroom areas and will be using the globes to find out about our world.

We will take our imaginations into all the areas in our new and exciting continuous provision, where we might....

Act out a story in our cosy reading corner.

Use our arts and craft materials to make something amazing!

Build, measure and make in our construction area.

Try out our 'Investigation Station' and use our scientific ideas!

Extend our number knowledge in our new maths area.
