What an evening...

On Thursday 22nd March, no one could have prepared our school for the magnificent evening we had. Our own school choir were joined by the ladies of the HD8 Voices. There was a magnificent selection of songs from many different genres. It is hard to put into words how fabulous the evening was! There was hardly a dry eye in the house!

Our School Choir

Our school choir were in fine voice as they sung songs from Mary Poppins, Joseph and his Technicolour Dreamcoat and Sing by Gary Barlow.

Led by Mrs Whitehead, we were even treated to a group performance from singers from Class 5, a duet from Emma and Jack and solos from Emma and Isabell.

We were so very proud of all the children in the choir who put in an immense amount of effort to learn and perform their pieces.

HD8 Voices Ladies Choir

The ladies of the HD8 Voices ladies choir were also in fine fettle! Such power and impeccable control of their voices. Led by Mrs Priest, the choir sung hits from La La Land, Pharrel Williams and Adele amongst others. The children joined the ladies on stage for a performance of 'Any Dream Will Do'.

It was wonderful to see so many of our mums, aunties, grandmas and friends up on stage performing their hearts out! Keep an eye out for our very own Mrs Brennan too!

We were also treated to solo performances by Ella Wood and Adam Priest - we were so proud to see our ex-pupils back in school sharing their amazing talents with everyone. Mrs Brooke was in total pieces over their performances!

We wish both Adam and Ella the very best of luck in their upcoming auditions!

Lovely words...

After such a wonderful evening of being so very proud of our children, we were blown away by the sheer number of kind comments from our audience. Someone even stopped Mrs Brooke in the street the next day to share how much they had enjoyed the evening! One email said,

'Your school choir and soloists were simply outstanding. Never have I heard a better school choir. The confidence and professional manner was there for all to see. The singers were on the note, they sang with a joy that filled the room with happiness.
I have never sent an email regarding a concert before but I just had to......Simply superb.......thank you and well done to all.
It was an absolute pleasure to be part of your wonderful experience.
I do not know any children at your school so this is an unbiased comment.'

You can see why all the staff and parents were so proud!

We'd also like to thank our amazing PTA - the organisers of the event. They do so much for our school and are always on hand, often behind the scenes, making sure these events run so smoothly! Thank you!
